Was chatting with John on MSN about our prayer meetings yesterday that Daniel posted about. Anyways, read the conversation and add your thoughts in the comments

I still don’t understand who’s benefiting from us all praying the same prayer for the same person is 10 different ways. Surely saying “God, X loves you. We’d really love you to move with compassion and heal them.” and moving on.

John says:
its about perserverence Luke 18

is it more for *our* feeling of having played a part in it sometimes though

John says:
thats why 2/3 was about worship, seeking the Lord to speak and 1/3 bringig out requests to God

yeah i know… we seem to be heading that way but what have out parents and generations before been doing?

John says:
i think with healing there are 2 main streams, 1, name and claim it, 2, pray and seek Gods will whatever the outcome

i struggle with 1

I’m playing devils avocate (dodgy phrase but you know) but great people of faith have gone with 1 and maybe 2 is a cop out

John says:
great people of faith have something special, but if you dont have assurance then you cant stir it up, so what do you do? get all condemned and unrealistic?

John says:
faith comes by hearing, hearing by the word of God. Faith does not come by stirring it up somehow
