Google Blog Search - Why?

Google have just launched their Blog Search but it strikes me as a pretty pointless exercise. Why? Because if you look at the results and try to extrapolate a definition of a blog from them its basically “a site with a syndication feed” (i.e. RSS or Atom). This may have been a good definition 2 years ago but with every decent news site pumping out their content in an RSS feed these days the pool is rather poluted. When I go to find a blog I’m usually after an expert in a certain field, but someone with a personal tone not a reporters tone. Am I alone in that?
